Dr. Megan Kibbey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL in 1999. She then went on to earn both Ph.D. and dental (DMD) degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. During her training at MUSC, she received a National Institutes of Health grant for her research and the Oral Biology Award from the American Association of Oral Biologists upon graduation. After graduation, Dr. Kibbey completed a General Practice Residency program at Tufts University in Boston, MA, and became the chief resident the second year. She was then appointed as an Advanced General Dentistry Fellow and Faculty member at Tufts University. In 2016, Dr. Kibbey joined Community Dental in Lewiston, Maine, as the lead dentist and valued the opportunity to oversee and teach Tufts University dental residents rotating through the dental center. Dr. Kibbey has recently returned to South Carolina and is honored to have joined the Plantation Family DentalCare team! She strives to provide compassionate patient-centered care and works fervently to integrate oral health into her patient's medical care. Out of the office, Dr. Kibbey enjoys learning new cultures and helping those in need. As a result, she has traveled to four different continents providing dental care to those in need. She also enjoys going to the beach, watching and playing sports, spending time with family and friends, as well as working any type of puzzle!
